President of the Constitutional Court
Born in 1953 in Grkovci, Bosansko Grahovo. She graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Law in 1976 where she also earned her doctoral degree in constitutional law in 1986. She passed her state exam in 1978 and her bar exam in 1991. Wishing to further upgrade her legal knowledge she has made a number of study visits to France, Germany and the Czech Republic.
For more than twenty-five years she has been discharging the most complex legislative and legal functions. For instance, she has held the posts of Assistant Federal Legislation, Judiciary and Administration Secretary, Deputy Federal Legislation Secretary and Federal Legislation Secretary.
She has written several books and published a variety of articles in national and foreign legal periodicals. She has participated in numerous congresses, seminars and conferences in the country and abroad where she has given presentations and read her papers. Since 2007 she has been Chair of the Serbian Constitutional Law Association.
In June 2002 she was appointed as Constitutional Court Judge for the first time. On the proposal by the President of the Republic of Serbia, the National Assembly re-appointed her as Constitutional Court Judge on 24 November 2007.
She was elected President of the Constitutional Court on 26 December 2007.
